Last year Royal Jordanian ran an impressive Oneworld status match programme where you could match top tier hotel status with their Royal Club loyalty programme. This is a rare opportunity to get airline status with a hotel status match as typically airlines require a status match with another airline.
The offer has now returned and given the upcoming changes to the British Airways Executive Club it may make sense for some people to take advantage of the status match offer. Royal Jordanian are a Oneworld partner so status within their programme would give you benefits on other Oneworld airlines such as British Airway or Qatar Airways.

You can apply for the Oneworld status match here. There is a fee that applies which has increased since previous matches to $199 and is paid on application. The status will last for one year from approval.
Hotel Statuses: There are 5 applicable hotel schemes that are valid for the status match to Royal Jordanian Gold.
- Accor Platinum or higher
- Hilton Diamond
- Hyatt Globalist
- IHG Diamond
- Marriott Platinum or higher
Gold is the second highest tier within their programme and will provide Oneworld Sapphire status. This will provide benefits such as lounge access, free seat selection, priority boarding and additional baggage on Oneworld flights. You can also match to the lower status of Silver Jay which is the equivalent of Oneworld Ruby but with a lesser level of benefits. The fee for a match to Silver is only $49.
Airline Status Match: Royal Jordanian are also running an airline status match from non-Oneworld airlines. This comes at a lower fee of $149 for the Gold status match. The full list of applicable airlines can be found here.
The promotion is due to end on the 17th January but Royal Jordanian pulled the last offer early given high levels of demand so worth moving quickly to lock in your Oneworld status match.
