The Le Metropolitan Paris Tour Eiffel, Tribute Hotel sits within the Marriott brand but with it’s indoor pool, charming neighbourhood and the incredible views of the Eiffel Tower, albeit in some rooms you may have to dangle of the balcony for the view, it provides a boutique feel for a central Paris hotel.
The Le Metropolitan Paris Tour Eiffel markets itself as an eco-friendly property located in the upscale 16th arrondissement of Paris. The property boasts an indoor pool which is a rare commodity in Paris but the thing you come here for are the incredible views. The hotel offers 38 rooms and 10 suites across 6 floors and advertises that 6 rooms have “scenic views of the Eiffel tower”. The rooms they are referring to are the suites on the corner of the hotel with a direct view to the Eiffel tower. These rooms are undoubtedly beautiful, however I think the hotel may be underselling itself as our Deluxe King room which looked out to the west of the building, still had an incredible side view down Av. d’Eylau with an incredible view of the Eiffel tower (granted it required peeking your head out of the beautiful Juliette balcony windows). Given our room type cost 3 times less than the suite, we think this was a great deal!
The Room:
We visited in July 2024 just before the start of the Paris Olympics. We booked a Superior King guest room and on arrival in recognition of our Marriott Bonvoy Gold status, we were upgraded to a Deluxe King room. The room was well proportioned for a room in Paris and fairly modern in its design. There were no bells and whistles with this room but it had everything you needed and the bed was comfortable. The room contained a fridge (empty for your use), coffee maker, eco friendly coffee pods, a safe, wardrobe space with 10 hangers, a steamer and 2 bathrobes and slippers.
The Bathroom:
The bathroom was a good size for Paris containing a large shower with dual shower heads. The amenities were Acqua Di Parma and smelt divine. the bathroom could have used a little TLC in the maintenance of the ceiling but everything at ground level was modern and sleek. We only had two niggles about the bathroom, one was that the shelf which holds the amenities in the shower could have been slightly larger to enable you to put down your own toiletries and the second is that it would have been great to have either a towel rail or hook at the front of the sink to hold a hand towel (we mostly ended up folding ours at the side of the sink.)
The Pool:
The pool area could be found in the basement and was accessible via the lift (albeit you had to inform the reception staff who escorted you downstair which was just a little odd when you are in your bathrobe). The pool area itself was beautiful oasis of calm away form the hustle and bustle of the busy streets of Paris. The pool was a good size for doing laps and also included jacuzzi jets for an extra touch of luxury. There was also a steam room and 4 very comfortable loungers to relax on after you had been for a quick dip. We visited the pool area early afternoon on a Friday and were the only ones there. Given this is a fairly small hotel in the middle of a city with incredible things to see and do, our suspicion is that this pool is often fairly quiet which is a win in our books!
Dining:
Given the numerous dining options in Paris we did not get round to trying out the dining options within the hotel but there is a newly opened Japanese restaurant called Hokusai which is open for lunch and dinner.
Conclusion:
The Le Metropolitan Paris Tour Eiffel is a well located hotel providing a boutique experience within the wider Marriott brand. Marriott Bonvoy status was well recognised with a one category upgrade as a Gold member. The view of the Eiffel Tower and the small basement pool make this hotel standout in what would otherwise be a slightly lacklustre 5* star hotel in Paris.
